History:
It is said that many years ago, a very thirsty woman arrived in the place and asked for water. Given fresh cool water, she inquired as to the source. She was shown the well, which in Ilocano is “bubon” and from that time on, it became a popular topic for conversation in the barrio. There was a “bubon” surrounded by “rono”. Later on, the two words were combined, the place at first was called “Bonro”, and later on “Bungro”.
