History:
Barangay Cadaclan was founded in the 17th century long before the World War II. There was no roadway during the early days. It was only during the American regime in 1909 that passage for people transporting to the barangay was built. “Cadaclan” as the world itself has a very memorable meaning to all inhabitants of the place. As retools, the place, was originally consisted of five (5) sitios, namely: Tuplacan, Lamitan, Ambabaag, Pandayan, and Bimmaliga. Some hunters often lost their way and could not determine what sitio they are in. they were often confused on the names of the different sitios and so when two hunters had a dispute as to the name of the sitio, while they were hunting for a deer, they agreed that whoever caught the biggest deer would be the one to give the name for all the sitios together. Finally, one caught a big deer. The hunter boasted that he had caught the biggest deer and proudly exclaimed, “Cadakkelan” referring to the deer caught. His companions understood him that “Cadakkelan” was the name he chose and decided for the disputed area. From that time, the place was named “Cadakkelan” then later on was shortened to Cadaclan.
