History:
In 1912, the entire strip of land along the western seacoast of the city called Barrio Ilocanos was divided into two barrios, namely Ilocanos Norte and Ilocanos Sur. This was through a Municipal Resolution passed by Municipal President Ulpiano Flores creating the two barrios due to the increasing population.
