History:
Long, long ago this barangay was called Sinaoi-log. There are practically no rice fields at all as both sides of the area are mountains. Some enterprising residents decided to carve out of the mountain plain to be made into rice fields. Since there were no modern tools and implements yet at that time, they used a “suyod”, a wooden instrument with iron teeth pulled by a carabao or cow, used as a kind of grader. This was where the name “Sacyud” came from.
