The City Government of San Fernando led by Mayor Pablo Ortega, in coordination with other government agencies, has conducted a medical examination for all employees to commemorate the annual World Heart Month and at the same time, underscore a healthy lifestyle to its maximum level.
“Over 245 employees have been screened,” Dr. Godofredo Rilloraza of the City Health Office (CHO), said. They were monitored for blood pressure, cholesterol level, electro-cardiogram and urine last Thursday.
Third-year nursing students from the Lorma College assisted the CHO and Provincial Health Office personnel on the taking of blood pressures. “Most of the men suffer higher blood pressure levels than the women we have screened, and this is related to their lifestyles,” Ronamyr Hafalla and Kimberly Ferrer, both nursing students said. They were authorized by their clinical instructor to assist the patients of the CHO.
Rudelyn Manzano, a nursing staff of the CHO said that they also conducted Fasting Blood Sugar, Foot-screening and blood mass index and urinalysis for diabetes and electro-cardiogram last Feb. 6, 13 and will continue on the 20th and 27th at the Dacanay Session Hall, City Hall, from 8 to 11 AM.
It was also learned that a symposium in hypertension and cardio-vascular disease would also be held on Feb. 27 at 8 AM to 12 noon. “Hataw,” an aerobics for city employees was also held on the same day in front of the City Hall. |
