The 11th Foundation anniversary celebration of the cityhood of San Fernando kicked-off with a Badminton Fun Game at the San Fernando Badminton Court on March 14 at 8:00 am in the morning.
On March 15, a Fun Run was held gathering city employees who participated in the different categories for male 5K and female3K such as the Category A or the 30 years old and below, Category B or the 30-40 years old, Category C and D or the 40-50 years and 50 years old and above respectively.
Flag raising and wreath laying rites was conducted on March 16 at 8:00 am infront of the city hall and followed by the City Olympics held at the Pacoy Ortega Cultural and Sports Center. Different physical and mental games such as the obstacle race, sack race, extra challenge, tug-of-war, changing costumes, physical relay, trip to Jerusalem, caterpillar, arm wrestling and “kadang-kadang” were played.
On March 17, a drum and lyre competition was held at 8:00 am participated by different public schools in the city.
A mass wedding and mass baptismal was held on March 18 9:00 in the morning at St. William Cathedral followed by a basketball game at 7:00 in the evening with the executive and legislative teams as the contenders.
On March 19, at 7:00 in the morning a mountain bike race to Brgy. Bangbangolan and Brgy. Pias for the male and female employees respectively was held and followed by the 64th Anniversary celebration of the Victory of Bacsil Ridge at 4:00 pm at Bgry. Bacsil. As part of the event, a commemorative program was held in honor of war veterans and gift checks were distributed to them courtesy of the city government.
Declared under Republic Act No. 8945, on March 20, as a special working holiday, a street dancing competition joined by different public and private schools in the city was held at 7:00 in the morning.
Along with it, the launching of the City’s Citizen’s Charter was held at the Lobby of the city hall and the MOA signing and launching of the Region I Economic Review and Business Assistance Center and San Fernando City Assistance and Information Desk at the Dacanay Hall, City Hall.
At 8:00 in the evening, the Loyalty Award for city employees who rendered 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years in service, the City Service Award and Pagwadan Award was given during the Rabii ti Pammadayaw at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol.
On March 21, the championship game for the badminton fun game was conducted at 8:00 in the morning at the SFC Badminton court and followed by a graduation ball attended by private and public school graduating students of the city at 7:00 pm at the Diego Silang Hall, Provincial Capitol.
