The celebration of the first anniversary of Seeing Images of Life in Photography (SILIP) Camera Club, Inc. with the City Government of San Fernando led by Mayor Pablo C. Ortega and in coordination with the City Information Section conducted several events in connection with the National Tourism Week celebration on September 23 to 25, 2009.
The SILIP Club which was a brainchild of five professional and freelance photographers in the province; Vicente Alhambra, Jr., chief of the Media Bureau, City Government of San Fernando and elected SILIP President; Region 1 tourism director Martin S. Valera; Rene Niro; Marco Campos; and Engr. Lorenzo Balbin, Jr., owner and manager of Sea Park Beach Resort.
Activities such as the 1-week Photo Exhibit held on September 20 to 27, 2009 at the CSI the City Mall in Brgy. Biday featuring SILIP’s members and San Fernando’s local wedding designers with their models who ramped on stage during a fashion show on the opening day. The photo exhibit aims to promote the local tourist destinations of the province which can be used also as a subject for wedding pictorials. Prior to the exhibit, the group scheduled a 2-month photo shoot and went to the different towns in La Union and Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Also, a 3-day Advanced Photography Seminar Workshop focusing on travel and wedding photography, portraiture and lighting with Mr. Ador Pamintuan and Vic Sison of FPPF, Inc. on September 23 to 25; and an acquaintance party and officers’ oath-taking ceremony at the Sea Park Beach Resort in Brgy. San Francisco.
Among the Club’s honorary members are City Mayor Pablo C. Ortega, City Councilor Joseph de Guzman, and ABC Vice-President Ramon C. Ortega, Engr. Lorenzo Balbin, Jr., and Regional Director Martin S. Valera of DOT-ROI.
