 San Fernando Airport resumes domestic operations last April 14, 2010, following the completion of the first phase of it’s half-billion peso airport upgrading project funded by the state-owned Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA).
The San Fernando Airport upgrading project is in line with Pres. Gloria M. Arroyo’s agenda to transform Northern Luzon into a super region. It is expected to serve as the country’s gateway to the North together with the Poro Point Seaport and is seen to create a wider opportunities for investment, trade and employment.
For the duration of flights last April 14, 2010, South East Asian Air (SEAIR) flight DG0205 departed from Manila Domestic Airport at 11:50AM and arrived at the San Fernando Airport at 12:55PM and this officially signals the resumption of domestic operations after the airport was closed last December 2007 to give way for the said upgrading.
