MAYORAL AND VICE MAYORAL WINNERS IN SFC PROCLAIMED

 
     
     
 

After long hours of tension and waiting, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) together with members of the Board of Canvassers finally proclaimed the winners of the Local Election here in San Fernando.

At exactly 4:00PM of May 11, 2010 at the People”s Hall, City Hall San Fernando City, Comelec proclaimed Incumbent Mayor Pablo C. Ortega and Sangguniang Panglalawigan Member Hermenegildo A. Gualberto as Mayor and Vice Mayor respectively.

Mayor Ortega, a 2nd- termer, who won by a landslide obtained 42,157 while his opponent Carlos Ortega garnered only 5,133 votes. In the vice mayoral race, SP Gualberto who ran as Independent won over his opponent by only 100 votes. He obtained 24,824 while incumbent vice mayor Pancracio Q. Nisce garnered 24,724.

Other local officials, who are newly-elected City Councilors were also proclaimed. 11 from the 12 newly-elect Councilors came from the Dream Team led by Incumbent Mayor Pablo C. Ortega. The following are the newly-elected Councilors according to their ranking and the votes they have obtained. Alfredo Pablo R. Ortega (Team Unity) – 37,144, Francisco Paolo P. Ortega, V (Team Unity) – 35,695, Jonathan Justo A. Orros (Team Unity) – 33,828, Rodolfo M. Abat (Team Unity) – 31,754, Joseph Bernard D. Valero (Team Unity) – 30,783, Joseph M. de Guzman (Team Unity) – 30,038, Andre H. Dacanay (Team Unity) – 29,334, Florentino G. Flores Jr. (Team Unity) – 29,077, Marylin R. Jucar (Team Unity) – 28,190, Lolita G. Dyquiangco (Team Unity) – 28,093, Ramon F. Laudencia (Independent) – 24,972, and Wilfredo P. Ordono (Team Unity) – 21,822.

From 99 clustered precincts in the City of San Fernando, out of 65,471 total number of Registered Voters, only 51,679 was the total number of actual voters.

On the other hand, Incumbent Congressman for the First District of La Union Victor F. Ortega, who is unopposed, was the first to be proclaimed by the Comelec for winning the Congressional Race. While Incumbent Governor Manuel C. Ortega and Incoming Vice-Governor Aureo Q. Nisce won as Governor and Vice-Governor of La union respectively.
