Mayor Pablo C. Ortega has announced here that San Fernando is one of the first cities to be International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-certified, following its completion of criteria set upon through world standards of Integrated Management System.
The ISO is a non-governmental world organization which regulates the facilitation of services and goods to constituents and also applied to foreign exchange business and technical transactions that is sometimes, environmentally-significant. It also focuses on the effectiveness of a quality management system in meeting customer requirements.
The worldwide federation of national standard bodies is composed of 130 countries. By a country or a local government unit, to implement its services and its activities based on a synchronized set of policies, it then, help promote international cooperation economically, technically, environmentally and intellectually.
“It’s an honor for local residents and La Union,” the Mayor proudly said as he particularly cited the quick, improved and orderly issuance of clearances and permits , through the city government program, Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) without complaints from clients during the transactions.
“The certification also proved that our services are smoothly conducted based on the world-standard criteria,” the Mayor added. The city government adapted the organization’s existing management system to cater services to its customers. |
