Brigada Eskwela 2010

 
     
 

City Schools Division of San Fernando led by Madam Linda Laudencia together with City Mayor Pablo C. Ortega once again conducted the annual Brigada Eskwela last May 24-29, 2010. This time, the delegation focused at the La Union National High School. The Brigada activities from the different schools in the City includes the painting of walls, classrooms, and fence. Repairing of chairs, desks, and tables, faucet, comfort rooms. Replacement of drainage system. Repainting of roofings, walls, windows and doors, and ceilings. Beautification of grounds and rooms. Tree planting. Restructuring of the different departments, classrooms and principal’s office. Construction of fence and pathway.

The Brigada Eskwela program partners with school heads, teachers, students, parents, and community volunteers aims to restore and beautify public schools. It aims to make classrooms and campuses more ideal for learning.

The City Schools Division have saved PhP4,130,679.44 from donated materials and manpower from the volunteers for the entire school of the City, both the Elementary and Secondary Division.

City Government of San Fernando, Provincial Government of La Union, Office of Rep. Victor F. Ortega, Office of Rep. Francisco “Pacoy” Ortega, Office of Sangguniang Panlunsod, Office of the Provincial Board Members, JCI-Saluyot, Philippine National Police, Armed Forces of the Philippines, National Economics and Development Adm., Bureau of Fire Protection, Thunderbird Resort, Barangay Captains and other Officials, La Union Medical Association, Private Individuals, ABS-CBN, Teachers Association, Pupils/Students Association, Parent-Teachers Association Saint Louis College, Philippine Veterans Bank and Banco Filipino were the individual/organization who donated manpower and materials to make the Brigada Eskwela 2010 successful.

This year, they also awarded the following schools as Best Brigada Eskwela Implementers. Both Elementary and Secondary Level were divided into three categories.

A. Elementary Level

1. Small School Category
1st - Mameltac Community School
2nd - Parparya Elementary School
3rd - Nagyubuyuban Elementary School

2. Big School Category
1st - North central School
2nd - Ilocanos Community School
3rd - Lingsat Community School

3. Extra Ordinary Category
1st - Catbangen Central School
2nd - Pagudpud Elementary School
3rd - South Central School

B. Secondary Level

1. Small School Category
1st - Dr. Quintin Balcita Sr. NHS
2nd - Bangbangolan NHS
3rd - Pao NHS
2. Big School Category
1st - La Union National High School

3. Extra Ordinary Category
1st - LUNHS-Sacyud Annex
