The City Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Pablo C. Ortega launched his 1M Tree project by planting mangoes, coconut and bamboo trees in a remote barangay of the city.
Mayor Ortega informed that he will continue the project of the former administration and targets to plant 1.2M trees until his third term.

“My target is to plant 300,000-400,000 trees in 3 years,” Ortega added.
Since fruit trees are good alternative for reforestation, Mayor Ortega planned this type of trees in areas which are prone to landslides.
Aside from the tree planting activity, Mayor Ortega also graced the inauguration of the Farmer’s Information and Technology (FITS) and Bamboo and Agroforestry Science and Technology (S&T).
He ordered the construction of a Ferro cement tank and donated a motor pump and irrigation pipes for barangay use.
Mr. Catalino Nullar, Barangay Captain of Cabarsican, expressed his appreciation for the generous donation of the City Government of San Fernando. |
