Beauty Queens from the 20 towns of La Union competed in the annual Mutya ng La Union pageant, held last March 2, 2011 at the San Fernando City Plaza Auditorium.
A small but terrible nursing student as described, the charm and wit of Bernalexi Caballero of the City of San Fernando bested other contenders to wrap up the a title. She was crowned as Mutya ng La Union Turismo 2011 by Ms. Brendolf Muñoz, Mutya ng La Union Turismo 2010 and Ex-Officio La Union Board Member and San Fernando City Senior Councilor Hon. Alfred Pablo R. Ortega.
In spite of rain showers, candidates competed enthusiastically, showcasing their assets and special abilities during the production number, evening gown portion, swimsuit competition and mainly the question- and- answer portion.
Shiela Nisperos of Sto. Tomas was proclaimed Mutya ng La Union 2011; Czarmaine Laoan of the Municipality of Caba won the Mutya ng Kalikasan title;
Joining them in the elite circle was: Gellie Rose Kristine Lucina of Bangar and Mary Glory Ann Sharpe of Bauang, who copped the 1st and 2nd runner-up respectively.
The pageant was one of the highlights of the 161st Foundation Anniversary of the Province of La Union;
La Union’s government officials from First and Second Districts came united to witness the yearly momentous event. |
