A new idea of renewal and acquisition of business and working permits and licenses, a brainchild of City Mayor Pablo C. Ortega, has helped improved and fast track its facilitation between the Business and License Permits Section, under Ofelia Mendoza and new and old applicants.
This was the assessment of Mendoza amid the ongoing procedure at the City Hall at this time of the year when applicants renewing and acquiring of business and working permits and licenses, flocked the Business- One- Stop- Shop areas established by the city government.
"As of January 11, 2011, 1, 101 businesses have applied and 523 permits were already issued," said Mendoza, adding that in the individual working permits, they were dealing 18 to 20, 000 workers for their renewal this year.
There were already 4, 880 workers that have been granted renewal permits since the issuance began last October. "There 364 new applicants that are being assessed," she said.
Mayor Ortega, last year, proposed and eventually adopted the idea of issuing stickers instead of identification permits to save the city government of so much cost production.
Mendoza said that the pre-requirement requisites like the early computation of fees to be paid, that is also being implemented, helped de-clogged long waiting lines and crowds.
"That is better on our part because when they come to submit their papers, the pre-requisite requirement is already complete and likewise the renewal of individual working permit is finished quickly because they come in bulk and are just bringing their IDs and we just issue them stickers and that there's no need for personal appearance because they are already encoded in the computers," she added.
It was learned that there were proposals from the Phil. Chamber of Commerce here that working permits should be renewed every three years , which Mendoza said it was a good suggestion but excepts workers who deal with food because they need yearly medical examinations. |
