The City of San Fernando has recently received from the Bureau of Post-Harvest Research and Extension (BPRE) a cold storage and ice-maker machine for the auxiliary wet market of the city.
The blessing and launching ceremony of the equipments was held on April 8 at the auxiliary wet market. The event was graced by Mayor Pablo C. Ortega, Former City Mayor Mary Jane C. Ortega, Department of Agriculture Regional Executive Director Atty. Cipriano G. Santiago, BPRE Acting Training and Extension Director Arnel Ramir M. Apaga, Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Director Nestor D. Domenden, and City Officials.
“The City of San Fernando is very fortunate for having very generous partners, particularly, the Bureau of Post-Harvest Research and Extension for awarding us with one unit Cold Storage and One unit ice-maker machine,” Mayor Ortega said during the turnover of the equipments.
According to the Mayor, the cold storage shall be managed by the city government and the ice-maker machine shall be used by the members of the City Fisheries and Aquatic Resource Management Council as their livelihood project.
The said equipments are a joint project of the City Agriculture Office and the City Market Division. |
