Mayor Dong Gualberto has raised Code Red in the City of San Fernando, this morning, September 14, 2018. All responders and volunteers coming from the City Government along with the PNP, BFP, DOH, Philippine Coast Guard, and the youth are already activated for deployment in various areas in the City. According to the Severe Weather Bulletin posted 8 AM today, the entire La Union is already under Typhoon Warning Signal #2 and is set to experience moderate to occasionally heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Ompong to the southeast monsoon. #OmpongPH with a speed of 20 KM per hour is anticipated to fall on the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela tomorrow morning.

Everyone is encouraged to conduct pre-emptive evacuation as early as 1 pm today especially those coming from coastal areas and areas prone to flooding and landslide. Evacuation areas are already identified by the CDRRMC as well as the number of volunteers assigned per area. Mayor Dong in his message this morning, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers present in the meeting especially the youth. As a People's City and with the coordination and spirit of volunteerism the City has, indeed "walang maiiwan, walang pababayaan" . While it is good that the City is already prepared for today's operations, he emphasized that everyone should go about the operations with utmost care. He reiterated to secure yourselves, and your family.
