A livelihood assistance of about thirty-six cattle and eight carabaos was given to 44 tobacco farmers at the Food Terminal in Barangay Biday last Tuesday, September 18, 2018.

About Php 1.6 million was allotted to the project which was made possible through the assistance fund allotment for tobacco farmers under RA 7171 or the excise tax from tobacco products.

According to Ms. Flosie Decena, City Veterinary Officer,  aside from the purchase of cattle and carabaos, a part of the fund will also be used for livestock maintenance such as deworming, vitamins and others.

Mayor Dong Gualberto, who headed the granting of the assistance, urged the farmers to take care and use these animals for good intentions to help them earn additional income to sustain their needs.

Recipient villagers came from Barangays Bungro, Sagayad, Dallangayan Oeste, Dallangayan Este, Masicong, Nagyubuyuban, Narra Este, Narra Oeste, Pacpaco, Pao Norte, Puspus, Sacyud, and Santiago Sur.
