The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, in coordination with the Philippine National Police and Office for Public Safety, recently launched Oplan Semana Santa 2019, to ensure peace and order particularly in the central business district, and areas near churches and tourist spots across the City.

The City of San Fernando Tourism Desk is expecting an estimated influx of 45,000 day-tourists in the City to observe the Season of Lent with their families and friends.

Julie Ann Hipona of the CDRRMO, assured the public that the joint forces of CDRRMO, PNP, and OPS already placed security plans and measures as well as traffic plans to safeguard the citizens as well as the visiting tourists of the City. Close monitoring will be made to ensure that emergencies or incidents are dealt with immediately. Ms. Hipona also urges the public, both residents and tourists, to follow travel safety tips, stay alert and be observant of their environment, and strictly obey security protocols.

Aside from the above-mentioned offices, the City Health Office (CHO), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard, PNP Maritime, Philippine Navy, Philippine Red Cross, Army Reservist, AGK, Patrol 101, Airforce Reservist and barangay volunteer groups will be deployed at the City's strategic locations to assist residents, tourists, and motorists.
