Business owners along with other stakeholders in the People's City gathered last October 11, 2019 for a Business Registration Forum led by the City Government of San Fernando in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

The forum was organized to encourage businesses to register a name associated in their businesses as a pre-requisite before engaging in their enterprise.

Aside from DTI, other government agencies like PAG IBIG, SSS, PHILHEALTH and BIR were also present. Representatives from these agencies expounded the importance of availing their respective services.

PAG-IBIG Supervising Marketing Specialist Rachael H. Gallano explained that their office is responsible for the administration of the national savings program and affordable shelter financing for Filipinos employed locally, overseas, as well as voluntary and self-employed members.

SSS Acting Team Head Rothelando A. Manzano elaborated their social insurance programs while PhilHealth representative specified their sustainable national health insurance program for its members. BIR Group Supervisor Cristine Anne G. Laroya clarified to the participants that they cannot operate their businesses without their business tax identification number (TIN) and that they should have the authority to print and issue official receipts.

Meanwhile, with the establishment of a Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) shows that the City Government thru the Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO) is committed to comply with Republic Act (RA) No. 11032 - Otherwise Known as The “Ease of Doing Business (EODB) and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

RA 11032 was made to “promote the integrity, accountability, and proper management of public affairs and public property”. With the BOSS, business applications will soon be centralized and unified, zero contact policy will be implemented to lessen opportunities for corruption and processing time will be shortened.

This undertaking will greatly benefit business owners of the city and it just shows that the People's City is Business-Friendly City.
