118 San Fernando families graduate from the Pantawid Pamilya Program

118 families from our City graduated from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development last June 30, 2021.
This is the first graduation ceremony held since the program was launched back in December 2012. The 4Ps program is aimed at improving the health, education, nutrition, and overall well-being of families who belong in disenfranchised communities by giving conditional cash grants.
The exit ceremony signifies that the families have already reached a self-sufficient level, meaning they can already provide their own needs without the assistance of the 4Ps program.
Marlene Febes Peralta, Assistant Regional Director for Operations of the DSWD Field Office Region 1, led the turnover of case folders of the beneficiaries to the City Government. The signing of sustainability plan that will continue to assist and support the graduating beneficiaries was also done with councilor Arnel Almazan representing city Mayor Dong Gualberto.
In Mayor Dong’s message read by Councilor Almazan, Mayor Dong congratulated the graduating families. He enjoined them in the City Government’s efforts to curb the pandemic, “Isa lang ang aming hiling. Ang makasama kayo sa patuloy nating pagbangon at pagtayo ng ating mga kasamang nasa laylayan pa rin ng lipunan, lalong-lalo na sa gitna ng pandemyang ito. Pangarap namin na katulad sa inyo, ay makita naming silang namumuhay sa estado na karapat-dapat sa kanila.” He also wished them to continue to thrive and succeed in their lives with so many opportunities waiting for them.
With the sustainability plan, the City Government will not stop helping these families by including them in all programs and services available at the city.
Vice Mayor Alfred Ortega, City Councilors Ramon Ortega, Rizalde Laudencia, Chary Nisce, and Ernesto Rafon, CSWDO head Sally Matoza and members of Pastors Fellowship were also present to grace the occasion held at Puerto de San Juan last June 30, 2021.
