22 women farmers undergo entrepreneurship training with the department of agriculture

The City of San Fernando partnered with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 1 (DA-RFO1) in training 22 women farmers on the topic of building resilient agri-based communities through enhanced entrepreneurship and value-adding of major crops and livestock products last Oct. 21-22, 2021.
Coming from different barangays, the women farmers gathered at Brgy. Bato for the 2-day training dubbed by the DA-RFO1 as Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA), which included lectures on the entrepreneurial mindset and good manufacturing practices for food safety.
Aside from the said lectures, hands-on demonstrations on crops and meat processing were also incorporated in the short course. This included pork tocino, siomai, pork longganisa, and embutido processing.
On the second day of the training, the making of leche flan and noodles were tackled.
After the lectures and demonstrations, questions from the participants were also entertained by the trainers.
Because we support the agricultural sector, we will continue to ensure our kakabsats are given the proper training to increase the income of their families from their livelihood. Despite the pandemic, we are one with all our farmers here in #SanFernandoTayo!
