Every year the City of San Fernando has always been celebrating its cityhood foundation anniversary filled with month long fun activities. The City Anniversary is

meant to be a special occasion where people, friends and families come together, celebrating heritage and the culture of what it is to be a San Fernando community.

However, due to the threat of CoViD-19 pandemic, activities for the 23rd cityhood foundation anniversary are carefully planned, where some will be broadcasted online to prevent residents from going out of their homes. This year’s socially-distanced and virtual celebration is part of the City Government’s commitment to comply with the minimum health standards and protocols implemented by the Department of Health and the IATF.

“Agnanayon nga Ayat para iti Pamilya San Fernando” is the theme of this year’s celebration. The City of San Fernando wanted to highlight the importance of family and our togetherness in our fight with the CoViD-19 pandemic. The City Government wanted to highlight the uniqueness of every San Fernando family fighting together with one cause. It is in our families that we find our strength, it is also our anchor during rough waters. The bond that we have is our guidance in reaching greater heights for our beloved San Fernando.

Among the activities prepared this year include the Agri Trade Fair, Civil Mass Wedding, Bacsil Ridge Commemoration, Star Search, Panagayat ken Panagyaman Awarding Ceremonies, Bike the City Tour, The Agtutubo Game Show, City Olympics, Grand Educator’s Day, Liga ng Mga Barangay, Launching of Solar Lights and Book Saves, Earth Hour, Launching of Mobile Clinic, Inauguration of PBOSS Building and 2nd Floor, CHO Building, Launching of Smart City Council.

Meanwhile, the City Government of San Fernando will also hold its  first Virtual Grand Coronation for Miss City of San Fernando 2021. The project organizers ensure that all public health protocols and precautions are strictly implemented in the venue. Each candidate, make-up artists, organizers, pageant crew and the production team underwent CoViD-19 Rapid Antigen Test to ensure that everyone is safe from CoViD-19. The anticipated coronation will be premiered at the Official Facebook Page of the City Government on March 27, 2021, 7:00PM.

Despite the challenging times, the City Government of San Fernando continues to adapt, innovate and learn from the CoViD-19 crisis. The Cityhood Foundation Anniversary is a manifestation of our milestone achievement and igniting the  love, unity and pride of the San Fernando community. The celebration is way different from the previous times, but what matters most is that we continue to be one, we continue to raise our pride as one San Fernando Family and because of these values, we can truly show that #SanFernandoAyAyatenKa.
