Being solo parents who support the needs of their children can be very difficult especially financially. That is why the City Government, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office’s  (CSWDO) Tulong Alalay (Tulay) program, awarded negosyo capital assistance to 24 solo parents, at the City Library, on December 3, 2020.

Tulay allocated a total of Php 250,000.00 fund through the Trust Fund and Grant of Capital Assistance to women’s group under the CSWD.

Solo parent beneficiaries received Php. 10,000.00 each. They will return back the amount for twelve monthly payments or within a shorter period which should not be earlier than 5-months.  

“Tulay, as bridging the gap of your financial and economic situation, tapnu matulugan da kayo apo, dagijay mapanpanunotyo nga livelihood ket isu daytoyen iti mang-fullfill dagijay plano yo para iti bagi yo ken dagiti annak yo, tapnu maikkan yo met iti quality of life para iti bagbaggi yo kasta met ti an-annak yo,” said City Councilor Maria Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” Nisce, chairman committee on on Women and Family.

According to CSWD, the solo parent beneficiaries will also attend trainings to enhance the necessary skills in managing their business, such as simple bookkeeping and accounting lectures.

This program seeks to provide free capital assistance for solo parents during this pandemic and to help themselves be self-reliant and productive.
