BARANGAY COUNCIL, FARMERS TRAIN ON DEVELOPING COLOR-CODED MAP OF SOIL NUTRIENTS AND FERTILIZER

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the Office of the City Agriculturist, conducted a Training on Development of City Color-coded Soil Nutrients/Fertilizer Guide Map with Fertilizer Recommendation for 95 participants held at the Dialysis Center in Marcos Building on October 10, 2024.
Agricultural barangays in the city were informed of the result or output of the soil sampling conducted last year in the different barangays.
Sample of the developed soil nutrient map was presented together with the recommended fertilizer requirements. This will soon serve as a tool or guide of farmers in each barangays on their fertilizer application on their crops which will lead to higher production.
Moreover, a demonstration on soil nutrient testing was also conducted.
During the training, Mr. Erwin B. Aquino from Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 1 (DA-RFO1) served as the resource speaker.
Also present to grace the training were City Agriculturist Dr. Mary Jane B. Alcedo and Mr. Romel Andrada, representing City Vice Mayor Hon. Alfredo Pablo R. Ortega.
