Bike enthusiasts gathered for the launching of Bike the City Trails and Bike the City Trails Downhill Competition in Barangay Bangbangolan.

Acting City Mayor Alfred Ortega headed the launching of the event facilitated by the Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO). Promotion of these trails will  boost the local and tourism economy as tourism activities slowly come back to normal.

Acting City Mayor Alf, who is a bike enthusiast himself, enjoyed  his first hand experience of the bike trails. He reminded everyone, especially the participants, to be safe while having fun.

Meanwhile, Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 1 Director Joseph “Jeff” Ortega  also graced the occasion and promised his full support to the bike tourism of San Fernando.

Mr. Alex Peralta presented the awesome biketrails to the contestants and visitors of the event. Bike organizations of San Fernando who joined the cycling event were BIKEBROS, LUAT and LUDBKDZ.

Eight accredited community bike tourguides were also recognized by the city for completing the training provided by the DOT.

Tourism activities like this will be vital in reviving the local economy of #SanFernandoAyAyatenKa.
