The City Government of San Fernando through the City Agriculture Office distributed 50,000 Bangus fingerlings to fishpond growers here in the City on July 14, 2020.
This initiative allows the fish farmers to increase their income and improve their standard of living. The distributed fingerlings were from Aringay, La Union- one of the best producers of good quality Bangus in Region I.
With good feeding and abundant supply of pond water this rainy season, these fingerlings are expected to grow and be ready for harvest in 3-4 months.
City Mayor Alf Ortega thanked the City’s fishpond growers for their untiring efforts and their contribution to continuously provide food for the people of San Fernando.
City Vice Mayor Chary Nisce, Committee Chairman on Agriculture Councilor Tony Jucar, and City Councilor John Orros were also present during the aid distribution ceremony at the City Food Terminal in Barangay Biday.
