CITY EMPLOYEES UNDERGO TRAINING TO BETTER SERVE AGRICULTURE SECTOR

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union through the Office of the City Agriculturist (AGR) conducted training to its staff for the implementation of City Ordinance No. 2022-03 or the ordinance instituting and implementing the mandatory registration of ownership of agricultural and fisheries machinery and equipment.
Pursuant to DA-DILG JMC 2018-02 or the National Guidelines for the Registration of Ownership of Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery and Equipment, the City AGR held a training for their staff to properly execute the said City Ordinance. With the sharing of expertise from the personnel of the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech), ten employees of City AGR were equipped with knowledge regarding the policy and guidelines of Registration of Ownership of Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery and Equipment System (RAFMES).
During the training, PHilMech Science Research Specialist I Ms. Gladys D. Delizo discussed the guidelines in filling out the registration application form for RAFMES followed by the implementation of its policies. PHilMech Science Research Specialist II Engr. Louie A. Gonzales followed after with an informative introduction of RAFMES to the participants then PhilMech Computer Programmer I Mr. Sean Eric C. Samson held a demonstration and a hands-on activity on the use of RAFMES with the participants.
This activity was also held in partnership with Department of Agriculture – Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Engineering and Department of Agriculture – Regional Agricultural Engineering Division.
