CITY GOVERMENT ENHANCES CAPACITY IN GOVERNMENT PROCUREMENT AND PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

To enhance the capacity of the City Government of San Fernando, La Union (CGSFLU) in procurement and establishing partnerships, the CGSFLU, involving its Department Managers, Procurement Officers from each departments, and Bids and Awards Committee (BAC), underwent a four-day training on Government Procurement and Public-Private Partnership on May 21-24, 2024, at Ynad’s Place Hotel and Resort, City of San Fernando, La Union.

 

During the training, the participants were engaged with the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of R.A. 9184 under the expertise and guidance of the Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB) Accredited Procurement Specialist Atty. Zoilo L. Andin Jr., where he provided invaluable insights into streamlining procurement processes, ensuring transparency, and maintaining strict adherence to legal standards.

 

Afterwards, Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Regulation Specialist Atty. Alberto C. Agra led a comprehensive discussion on the PPP Code where the critical role of effective PPPs was highlighted in enhancing infrastructure development and improving service delivery.

 

This training underscores the City Government’s steadfast commitment to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement processes and executing PPPs to better serve our kakabsat in the city.
