Local farmers of Barangay Santiago Norte, Langcuas, Narra Oeste, and Camansi transplanted rice hybrid seedlings (LAV 777 Rice variety) with the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, during the “Rice Technology Demonstration Using Different Bio-Fertilizer for Increased Productivity” conducted by the Office of the City Agriculturist in a field in Santiago Norte last July.

During the transplanting activity, City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, City Councilors Hon. Leonardo R. Soriano, Jr., Hon. Ramon F. Laudencia, Hon. Edwin H. Yumul, and Hon. Aldrine R. Jucar joined the farmers, present barangay officials, and employees of the Office of the City Agriculturist in experiecing the transplanting.

After they planted the rice seedlings, the participating city government officials and City Agriculturist Dr. Mary Jane B. Alcedo delivered their messages of appreciation and continued support to the dedication of farmers.

This activity aims to demonstrate the use of various bio-fertilizers in rice planting to enhance productivity and promote sustainable, eco-friendly farming practices.
