CITY GOVERNMENT CONDUCTS FINANCIAL LITERACY, FOSTERS ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AMONG MARKET VENDORS, COOPERATIVES, TODAs

To foster sustainable economic development, the Local Economic Development and Promotion Division of the City Government conducted Financial Literacy – Basic Bookkeeping and Business Expense, Savings Training to members of the Market Vendors Associations, Cooperatives from different barangays in the city, and from different Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations.
Learnings on budgeting, financial planning, debt management, risk assessment, and access to financial services were shared to 60 participants through the following training providers:
• Ms. Kiel Clarisse Ordinario, DTI Negosyo Center Trade Industry Development Analyst
• Mr. Wilson Del Rosario, DTI Negosyo Center Business Counselor Bacnotan
• Mr. Rodel Joseph Ceasar Ariones, DTI Negosyo Center Business Counselor San Juan
• Mr. Welhemsen Palmes, Treasury Operations Officer III of the Bureau of Treasury Provincial Office
Ms. Rizalyn D. Medrano, Department Head of the City Local Economic Business Development Office, was also present to welcome the guests and participants in the said training.
This training further aims to equip the beneficiaries with a sense of control over their economic well-being and comply with legal and regulatory requirements such as tax payments and business registration.
