The City Government of San Fernando, led by City Mayor Alf Ortega together with the heads of key departments, convene with representatives from the Philippine National Police Regional Office I (PNP-ROI), City Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Health-Center for Health Development 1 (DOH-CHD1), Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF), and Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) to discuss the necessary actions to be taken to address the growing number of CoViD-19 cases involving personnel from PNP-ROI. The said meeting was held yesterday, September 4, 2020 at the Mayor’s Conference Room, City Hall. On top of the existing lockdown which was imposed by the PNP-ROI within its compound in Barangay Parian, movement and accessibility within and around the Containment Zone shall be further tightened. In addition, PNP-ROI shall be in close coordination with both the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and City Health Office (CHO) for the immediate conduct of a mass testing operation catering to the PNP personnel. The group is set to meet again in the following days to discuss PNP-ROI’s proposed plans of action which involves a revised working scheme for its workforce who will undergo RT-PCR or swab tests as well as the facilities which will be made available for their isolation.
