QUALIFIED CITY OCTOGENARIANS, NONAGENARIANS RECEIVE FREE NOTARIAL SERVICE

City of San Fernando, La Union qualified octogenarians and nonagenarians from all barangays received free notarial service for their application in The Expanded Centenarian Law at their respective barangay covered court and residence on May 14-21, 2025.
Through the initiative of the City Social Welfare and Development Office and in collaboration with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) – Region 1, the city was able to help senior citizens ease their application for the said program. Moreover, it also aims to make legal services more accessible for the elderly.
Among the PAO lawyers who extended their service were Atty. Gilbert R. Hufana, Atty. Frederick R. Diong-an, Atty. Howard Y. Chan, Atty. Jefferlyn D. Juliano – Vital, Atty. Auric Silvery B. Lawana – Villareal, Atty. Romualdo B. Obar, Atty. Christa Maria V. Taguiam – Paloma, and Atty. Marivic S. Viluan. They were also assisted by their staff, Ms. Lelanie Y. Perez and Ms. Maureen Antonette C. Ramirez.
According to the provisions of the Expanded Centenarian Law, senior citizens reaching milestone ages of 80, 85, 90, and 95 can now receive cash benefits through the National Commission of Senior Citizens.
