The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the Special Projects Office under the Office of the City Mayor, conducted the Lingkod Eskwela at Tulong Reading Activity (LETRA)  among 150 participating children of six barangays in the city on August 23, 2025.

Children from barangays Bato, Saoay, Mameltac, Dallangayan Oeste, Langcuas, and Camansi gathered in their respective covered courts to participate in the Grand LETRA activities which included the distribution of LETRA Kits containing school supplies, interactive games, and awarding of certificates.

Also present during the activity to show support were the barangay captains, barangay councils, and barangay health workers of the six participating barangays.

In every LETRA activity being conducted, it aims to improve the reading proficiency of children aged 5–10 years old through targeted interventions and peer tutoring by city scholars while promoting a fun and engaging learning experience.
