To foster and support the growth of the creative industry, the City Government through the Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO) officially launched the Lunsod Lunsad Project: C.R.E.A.T.E. Your San Fernando ELYU UNSDG Innovation Center under the held at the People’s Hall on October 11, 2024.

The launching ceremony commenced with the welcoming remarks of Ms. Valerie Ann S. Valdez, representing City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, followed by the inspirational message of Hon. Geraldine R. Ortega, representing City Vice Mayor Hon. Alfredo Pablo R. Ortega. After the messages, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 1 Assistant Regional Director Ms. Merlie D. Membrere introduced the Lunsod Lunsad Program.

After the official launch, the creative industry stakeholders of the city including the DTI, local creatives, and the Local Culture and Arts Council took part in the symbolic painting of pledge of creativity as a reminder that every action we take together contributes to a larger canvas of innovation, growth, and sustainability of our world-class creative city.

In addition, Mr. Mark M. Aquino, Focal Person for Creative Industries and Tourism Operations Assistant, led the briefing and orientation of the newly launched project. The participants also joined in the Business Tsismis which aimed to consult stakeholders regarding the services and various clusters under creative industries.

Ms. Rizalyn D. Medrano, Department Head of LEBDO, concluded the event with her closing remarks.

The Lunsod Lunsad Project, aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) and Republic Act  No. 11904 or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, supports creative initiatives in the city to drive sustainable innovation and community empowerment.
