To recognize efforts of the barangay councils on the welfare of the children, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), awarded Plaque of Recognition and check to Barangay San Agustin for being the Most Child-Friendly Barangay in an awarding ceremony held at the J&V Hotel and Resort on November 8, 2024.

The event was graced by the messages of Mr. Sean Yuri Sarmiento, representing City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, and Ms. Rosenda A. Liwanag, City Social Welfare & Development Officer.

During the awarding ceremony, barangays Bato, Catbangen, Saoay, and Dallangayan Este were also given Plaque of Appreciation in recognition of their efforts for child welfare.

The awardees were evaluated according to the compliance of their services with the different criteria composed of survival, development, protection, participation, governance, and innovations.
