PRESIDENTIAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE RECOGNIZES CITY GOVERNMENT FOR ITS FREEDOM OF INFORMATION INITIATIVES

The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) of the Office of the President of the Philippines recognized the City Government of San Fernando, La Union for its Freedom of Information (FOI) initiatives during the 2024 FOI Summit and Awards held in Hilton Manila Hotel, Pasay City on November 25, 2024.
The City Government received a recognition award as one of the new local government units to pass an ordinance of FOI from the PCO, the national implementer of the FOI and the main communications arm of the President and the national government.
Representing the City, Atty. Maria Nadia Nalinac Gonzales-Pilar, City Legal Officer, together with Dr. Mark Anthony D. Latoja, Administrative Officer V of the City Public Information Office, attended the event and received the said award.
Aside from receiving the recognition, the City Government also had an opportunity to benchmark on the implementation of FOI through the FOI Summit with various national agencies, local government units, and non-government organizations including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), held before the Awarding Ceremony.
