Acting City Mayor Alfredo Pablo Ortega shared his love for education at the Educators’ Day held at South Central Integrated School. Principals, school heads and teachers in the city participated in the event though were limited due to the pandemic.

Acting Mayor Alf thanked all the educators which he considered our modern day heroes that through their passion they were able to find ways to continue to educate and teach the children of the city. He also emphasized the theme of this year’s Cityhood Foundation Anniversary which is “San Fernando Ay-ayaten Ka: Agnanayon Nga Ayat Para ITi Pamilya San Fernando” and reminded everyone to continue to love what they do specially for San Fernando.

The City Government gave Tablets, Printers and Pocket WIFIs which were awarded to lucky winners for their respective schools. Hon. Brgy. Captain Geraldine Ortega of Canaoay, LIGA ng mga Barangay President, also donated pairs of School Kids’ Shoes. Katropa Alf also listened and noted some of the requests of the school heads especially for the improvement of their educational facilities.    

Acting City Vice Mayor Chary Nisce also graced the event and have also donated Pocket WIFIs. She also gave her promise to donate printers to be utilized by the teachers and students as well.

The event was headed by Dr. Rowena C. Banzon, Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Wilfredo E. Sindayen, OIC-Asst. Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Agnes B. Cacap, Chief Education Supervisor, Curriculum Implementation Division and Dr. Jose Mari P. Almeida, Chief Education Supervisor, School Governance and Operations Division. It was held last March 24, 2021.

Through Grand Educators’ Day, we have recognized the role of each and every mentor, professors and teachers who continue to dedicate their service amidst the challenging times. They are truly a reflection of a united family working together to help the children build their dreams.
