
In line with the 14th World Rabies Day Celebration with the theme “End Rabies: Collaborate, Vaccinate”, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through the City Veterinary Office, conducted a series of free anti-rabies vaccination activities in seven (7) barangays from September 17 to 29, 2020. Some pet owners also went to City Vet Office to have their dogs and cats vaccinated against rabies.
Further, the City Vet also gave free deworming services, supplementation of vitamins, and pet health consultations. The event was done in partnership with Songcuan Agri-Vet Trading, Samaya Pet Supply, Dr. Gio Lacsamana, and Dr. Maricar Songcuan.
About 1,682 dogs and cats were vaccinated last September 17,18, 22, 24, 25, 28, and 29 in Barangays Madayegdeg, Lingsat, Carlatan, Catbangen, Cabaroan, Pagdalagan and Langcuas, respectively.
The City Government of San Fernando will continue to intensify the campaign against rabies and instill responsible pet ownership. Aside from the vision of becoming a Smart City by 2025, your City Government ensures that we will be having a healthy City fit for both humans and animals because #SanFernandoAyAyatenKa.
