In its bid to strengthen its CoViD-19 prevention measures, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union and the Philippine Red Cross La Union – San Fernando City Chapter (PRC) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on water sanitation and hygiene promotion at the Mayor’s Conference Room, on September 22, 2020. City Mayor Alf Ortega and PRC Chapter Chairman Dir. Eduardo V. Regala led the event which was also attended by the City Health Officer Dr. Arman Carrera and PRC Chapter Administrator Almira V. Abrazado. The water sanitation and hygiene promotion project seeks to deliver basic water sanitation and hygiene promotion services in response to the CoViD-19 pandemic. Through the MOA, PRC shall provide four (4) portable handwashing stations to be situated at the Auxillary Wet Market, San Fernando Shopping Mall, City Health Office, and Bahay Kubo in front of City Hall. In turn, the City Government of San Fernando will provide water, soap, alcohol and sanitizer as well as take charge in the maintenance of the stations. Indeed, #SanFernandoAyayatenKa is built on the love and unity that we share within our community. Through our concerted efforts, we can overcome whatever challenge we may face.
