The City of San Fernando, La Union officials, department heads, and employees attend the flag raising and wreath laying ceremony in celebration of the silver cityhood foundation anniversary this March 20, 2023.

Together with the La Union National Highschool Drum and lyre corps musical defenders, attendees joined the program commemorating our 25 years of being a city.

City Vice Mayor Alfredo Pablo “Alf” R. Ortega welcomed the attendees with opening remarks and City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto delivered his anniversary message. In addition, City Human Resources Management Officer Ms. Evangeline S. Mendoza shared a brief history and background of the city.

San Fernando City Police Station Chief of Police LTCOL Fernando G. Acain Jr. spearheaded the wreath laying ceremony accompanied by police officers who delivered the 21 gun salute. Attendees also participated in the Eucharistic Mass at the St. William the Hermit Cathedral.

In line with the celebration, city officials also awarded the winners of the Grand People’s Parade recently conducted on March 18, 2023. Tonight, we shall also witness the coronation of the new queen among 18 candidates of the most awaited Ms. City of San Fernando 2023.
