SAN FERNANDO CITY PARTICIPATES IN HANDA PILIPINAS, REGIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK
The City of San Fernando, La Union participated in the Handa Pilipinas and Regional Science and Technology Week (RSTW) and showcased its commitment to innovation and sustainability during the event held in Laoag City on July 3-5, 2024.
During the opening program of the RSTW, Mayor Dong Gualberto proudly received a plaque of recognition on behalf of the city, along with an initial grant of PhP 1,000,000 from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
This grant will support the Smart and Sustainable Communities Program (SSCP), particularly for enhancing the One-Town-One-Product of the city.
In his address, Mayor Gualberto highlighted the significance of the SSCP for the future development of San Fernando. He also officially launched the city’s SSCP roadmap, outlining strategic initiatives to leverage technology and sustainable practices to enhance urban living and improve public services and the quality of life.
This recognition and support from DOST mark a significant milestone for the City of San Fernando, reflecting its proactive approach towards creating a smarter and more sustainable #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo.
