The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 1 conducted its first distribution of cash assistance for micro rice retailers in the City at the ABC Hall, City of San Fernando, La Union on September 13, 2023.

A total of 46 local rice retailers received cash assistance that shall cover the loss in their sales due to the implementation of Executive Order No. 39 of the Office of the President or the Imposition of Mandated Price Ceilings on Rice which took effect on September 5, 2023.

 

The City Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO) facilitated the entire activity in which Officer-in-Charge of the City Social Welfare and Economic Office (CSWDO) Ms. Rosenda Liwanag delivered her welcome remarks on behalf of the City Mayor.

 

Also invited to this event were Provincial Governor Hon. Raphaelle Veronica “Rafy” Ortega-David together with the representatives of the Regional and Provincial offices of Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Agriculture – Regional Office 1, DSWD Provincial Office, and City of San Fernando Police Station (CSFPS).
