CITY PRICE COORDINATING COUNCIL DISCUSSES MARKET PRICE AFTER STATE OF CALAMITY DECLARATION IN THE CITY
After the declaration of a State of Calamity in the City of San Fernando, La Union, the members of the City Price Coordinating Council (CPCC) convened in a meeting at the Mayor’s Conference Room to discuss the market price freeze today, July 31, 2025.
City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto presided over the said meeting, and the members of the council elaborated on the price freeze on basic commodities, schedule of price monitoring, and reorganization of the CPCC of the city.
As the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) advised, a price freeze on basic commodities is automatically in effect for 60 days following the declaration of the State of Calamity.
In addition, the council also agreed to follow a schedule of price monitoring and conduct regular monitoring of goods being sold at the City Public Market.
Present in the said meeting were City Vice-Mayor Hon. Pablo C. Ortega, City Councilors Hon. Joseph Clarence DG Valero and Hon. Ramon F. Laudencia, department heads of the city government, and representatives from DTI, Department of Agriculture, Department of Health, Provincial Health Office, Chamber of Commerce and Industry in La Union, San Fernando Police Station, and Market Vendor’s Association.
