The LGBTQIA+ community members, allies, and city officials joined in the opening of the 2026 Pride Month Celebration through a vibrant PRIDE Unity Walk and the official launch of the Rainbow Spike Volleyball Cup 2026 at the People’s Park on June 21, 2026.

The PRIDE Unity Walk kicked off the celebration, leading into an opening program that drew local officials, community leaders, partner organizations, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

During the program, Dr. Mark Anthony B. Inocencio, representing City Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, welcomed participants and underscored the importance of building an inclusive community where everyone is valued, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation.

Additionally, Mr. Mark Anthony “Macky” A. Ducusin, Provincial Board Member Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina P. Nisce, and City Councilors Hon. Joseph Clarence G. Valero and Hon. Nerissa Joy O. Almazan also delivered inspiring messages of support. Meanwhile, Ms. Maria Theresa M. Navarro, Supervising Administrative Officer of the City Gender and Development Office, announced the calendar of activities for the remainder of the celebration.

Following the opening program, the organizers officially launched the Rainbow Spike Volleyball Cup 2026, which featured an oath of sportsmanship, energetic dance presentations by participating teams, and the introduction of game officials.

Likewise, the event also showcased the Rainbow Muse 2026 Competition, where Perry Jan Yukee of Team FAG captured the crown. Team CSF also took home the Best TikTok Performance Award for their outstanding creativity, teamwork, and energy.

This activity brought together participants from various sectors, showcasing diversity, inclusion, and solidarity, highlighting the city’s commitment to promoting equality and respect for all. Also present during the event were representatives from the City, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the VAWC Desk Officers Federation, and the Bulalayaw ti San Fernando.

Through celebrations like this, the City of San Fernando reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, equality, and unity for all, living up to the spirit of #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo.
