CITY GOVERNMENT DEVELOPS 2026-2031 LDRRMP WITH OCD, NFSTI

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, through its City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), spearheaded the review, evaluation, and updating of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Plan (LDRRMP) for CY 2026-2031 in Santiago Cove, Santiago, Ilocos Sur on April 21-24, 2025.

In partnership with the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and the National Forensic Science Training Institute (NFSTI), this seminar-workshop was organized to develop a comprehensive 6-year LDRRMP for the city government.

A total of 45 participants from the selected city government offices, the Local People’s Council of the city, the academe, the healthcare sector, national government agencies, and non-government organizations participated in this activity. They were capacitated with knowledge of the salient features of R.A. 10121 or the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act, and the cycle and process flow of LDRRMP.

Moreover, the participants were also introduced to the updated template of LDRRMP. In addition, they were also engaged in sectoral planning sessions and a workshop on hazard, risk, and capacity assessment. After the workshop, the outputs were then presented and validated by the OCD and NFSTI.

This initiative highlights the importance of inter-agency and sectoral collaboration in the consolidation and development of the LDRRMP to ensure a safer and stronger community.

Kakabsat, let us look forward to the positive impact of this initiative on building a safer and more resilient #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo!
