Fifty-nine (59) tricycle drivers will take part in the #SanFernandoOnTheGo web portal to deliver essential commodities amidst the General Community Quarantine in the City due to the spread of COVID-19.

During the MOA Signing yesterday (May 15, 2020), City Mayor Alf Ortega encouraged the drivers and told them that they were our partners in providing delivery service to our community. He said “Tulong natin ito sa mga taga-San Fernando dahil nga tayo ay naka-GCQ, nililimitahan natin ang movement, at restricted ng paglabas ng mga tao, ito’y tulong narin sa inyo (drivers) dahil dalawang beses sa isang linggo lamang kayo makapag biyahe, yung mga araw na hindi kayo maka biyahe ay dito po kayo pwedeng kumita bilang On The Go Driver.

The City Government will provide the initial capital of Php3,000.00 per tricycle driver. The said amount will serve as the revolving fund to be utilized for purchasing items. An additional transportation fee and service fee of Php 50.00 – Php 90.00 will be charged depending on the client’s location and the same shall be the net profit of the drivers per transaction. Instruments provided for the tricycle drivers are the tablets, sim card and load for accessing data, driver’s vest, and tarp for the tricycle cab.

This MOA took effect on May 15, 2020. It will remain in full force and effect until the Community Quarantine order is lifted or the COVID-19 situation in the City of San Fernando improves, or unless sooner revoked or terminated upon agreement of both parties.

The City Government of San Fernando, La Union, continues to provide the best of services to its citizens. With your continued support and cooperation, we shall rise above this crisis.
