CITY GOVERNMENT JOINS THE CELEBRATION OF ARBOR DAY 2024
In celebration of this year’s Arbor Day, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of the City Government facilitated a tree planting activity wherein 700 guyabano seedlings were planted at the Botanical Garden on June 25, 2024.
Joining this activity were the Stakeholders from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Regional Office 1 and City of San Fernando (CSF), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Northwestern Luzon District, PCG Regional Training Center, PCG CSF Station, Philippine Air Force 585th and 580th Unit, CSF Parole and Probation, and Department of Public Works and Highways – Region 1.
The Lupon ng mga Indibidwal na Nangangalaga ng Kalikasan and the Dalumpinas Eco Rangers were also among the participants in the activity.
Arbor Day is a nationwide celebration wherein its purpose is to encourage people to plant trees. It is also an annual event for local government units institutionalized through Proclamation No. 396 which states, “active participation of all government agencies, including government-owned and controlled corporations, private sector, schools, civil society groups, and the citizenry in tree planting activity.”
Kakabsat, may we always work together in preserving the natural beauty of our environment and foster a greener and more sustainable #PeoplesCity of #SanFernandoTayo.
