CITY GOVERNMENT, KEY STAKEHOLDERS CONTINUE THEIR COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS TO FIGHT AGAINST ILLEGAL DRUGS IN THE CITY

The City Government, through the Special Projects Office of the Office of the City Mayor, conducted the Buhay Ingatan Droga’y Ayawan (BIDA) Diyalogo and Relaunching together with the local officials, law enforcement agencies, and other community members to strengthen the city’s anti-drug campaign held at the La Union Convention Center.

 

City Administrator Col. Ramon F. Laudencia welcomed the attendees in the event and emphasized the importance of collective action in making the said campaign successful as well as the ongoing initiatives for the BIDA Program.

 

Following this was City Local Government Operations Officer Ms. Lily Ann O. Colisao who shared a keynote message on the crucial role of local government units, especially the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council, with the implementation of drug prevention programs and rehabilitation efforts.

 

Meanwhile, Agent Francisca Oribello, Intelligence Officer I of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office I, provided an overview of the current drug situation in the province and the ongoing challenges to combat drug trafficking.

 

In addition, PLTCOL Fernando Acain Jr., Chief of Police of San Fernando City, discussed the success of the Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (RPSB) Program in reducing crime and building trust in the community.

 

To conclude the event, Pledge of Commitment was then led by CADAC Focal Person Mr. Rafael Jude L. Collado, who, along with the BADAC Members, SK Officials, police force, PDEA, and other community stakeholders, pledged their support for the BIDA program.
