The City Gender and Development (GAD) Office spearheaded the Pride Night: A Night Full of Talents and Colors – that features celebration, competition, and recognition of the LGBTQIA+ community, held at the Covered Court of Barangay Ilocanos Sur on June 22, 2024.

To set the festive mood, DJ X BON Band served as front act and serenaded the crowd and contestants.

The awarding of 15 Most Outstanding LGBTQIA+ in the City of San Fernando, La Union was among the highlight activities in the event and the following were recognized for their contributions in the community:

– Atty. Mary Holly Anne E. Rimando

– Wynne P. Zambrano

– Cruzaldo N. Cariño

– Hon. Mark Anthony A. Ducusin

– Dr. Ramon B. Torres

– Michael C. Nagas

– Rex F. Vitales

– Marko Eduardo M. Ancheta

– Larah H. Umalicruz

– Engr. Germie O. Deang

– Mercita P. Sulmarin

– Dennis Justin D. Acosta

– Dr. Jerome G. Acupan

Meanwhile, a Posthumous Award was also given to the late Hon. Jessie R. Miranda, MD, in recognition of his contributions and public service which Ms. Juliet Miranda, sibling of Dr. Miranda, humbly received.

Also, a Grand Costume Competition and a Lip Sync Battle was also conducted during the event.

Present to grace the event were 1st District Provincial Board Member, Hon. Maria Rosario Eufrosina “Chary” P. Nisce, City Councilor Hon. Mark Anthony A. Ducusin, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President, Hon. Kirk Andrew M. Agulan, Office of the City Mayor representative, Mr. Sean Yuri Sarmiento, the Secretary to the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Dr. Joseph M. De Guzman, GAD Focal Point System – Technical Working Group (GFPS-TWG) Chairperson, Ms. Maria Theresa M. Navarro, and Sangguniang Panlungsod Legislative Officer I, Mr. Rolando R. Marquez, who awarded the winners.
