To further strengthen the partnership between the Ansan City, Republic of Korea and City of San Fernando, La Union (CSFLU), delegates of Ansan City visited the CSFLU and had collaborative engagements on February 4-6, 2024.

The delegation of Ansan City led by Chief Secretary of the General Affairs Division Mr. Kyung-Dal Dong were invited to attend the State of the City Address as part of their visit. 

With the aim to enhance cooperation, explore potential areas of collaboration, and foster cultural exchange between the two cities, they had a meeting with the City Government to share about its best practices, with both parties expressing their commitment to explore collaborative initiatives that would benefit the residents of both cities and contribute to their sustainable development.

Ansan City delegates also visited some of the city facilities such as the City Hall, NASUDI Center, and Engineered Sanitary Landfill, having the opportunity to experience the warmth and hospitality of its residents.

One of the highlights of the visit was the cultural exchange night, with the local talents of CSFLU showcasing their knack for singing and traditional performances. Mayor Dong Gualberto also extended his heartfelt greetings to the visiting dignitaries, emphasizing the shared values of friendship and partnership.

On their last day, CSFLU accompanied Ansan City to a City Tour, visiting historical landmarks, economic activity zones, and tourism sites, having insights into the unique character and vibrancy of the city.

Moreover, a luncheon meeting between Ansan City and the City Government convened where both cities conveying their fulfillment with the outcomes achieved and reaffirmed their commitments in strengthening their friendship and cooperation.

Ansan City and CSFLU’s partnership began in 2001 was reaffirmed when Mayor Dong and City Mayor Lee Min-Geun signed the Implementing Agreement of the City Cooperation Partnership last September 27, 2023.

Indeed this partnership is a testament to the power of international partnerships in addressing common challenges and advancing shared goals for the prosperity and well-being of both communities; and solidify their battlecry that “The Path to Ansan is the Path to Korea. Ansan Tayo!”
